Male Model - Iqbal Gran (Germany) – Jumeirah Dhevanafushi

The boys are back in town. While the male fashionista set is considerably smaller than the female counterparts, an increasing number of macho models are strutting their stuff on the white sand catwalks of the Maldives.

Transfer Indo

Footballers in Maldives - Diana Lissa

If you think a seaplane transfer is expensive, try a Full Back transfer. The Premier League transfer window (and most of the major leagues) close today so expect some late breaking moves as the best and the brightest of the football pitches return from the their summer R&R on the atoll beaches. Here’s a starting eleven of those who chose to stretch out in the Maldives (and few bonus supporters). For even more examples, check out Bunyamin Ahmed’s social media feeds (though they are all airport selfies).

Surfer girls aren’t the only athletes drawn to the idyllic shores of the Maldives. I’ve noticed that Bunyamin Ahmed’s Instagram feed has been particularly chocker recently with footballers arriving in the Maldives. But every manner of athlete finds a bit of regeneration and recovery from this relaxing setting. Here is a top ten sample (sorry there’s not more ladies, but the guys just don’t post as prolifically as the gals)…

Couple Powers of 10

David And Victoria Beckham

One of the first, most frequent and highest profile power couples, David and Victoria Beckham, return to their favourite holiday haunt in the Maldives this holiday season with a few friends (eg. the Gordon Ramsay family). But “Posh and Becks” aren’t the only power couple to jet set into this tropical haven. Their holiday event is having Spice Girls band-mate, Mel C, perform for their New Year’s Eve party.

Here is the Maldives Complete Top Ten List of Power Couples in paradise…

Beach Beau Bloggers

Anantara Kihavah - David Calderon (USA)

International Mens Day today. Women aren’t the only Maldives visitors exploiting its picturesque backdrop for more than a few portraits in paradise. As I noted in my previous ‘males going to Male’ post, there are two orders smaller magnitude of male bloggers than female in the lifestyle part of the blogosphere.

As Andrej Karpathy notes first and foremost in his research into selfie popularity (“What a Deep Neural Network thinks about your #selfie”), “To take a good selfie, Do: Be female. Women are consistently ranked higher than men. In particular, notice that there is not a single guy in the top 100.”

Well, bucking that trend are a score of bucks here hoping to score a bit higher in those rankings with a bit of help from Maldivian scenery…

Beach Beau Bros

Jay Jintai (Thailand) – Lily Beach

Finally fit fellas follow fair femmes for foto fun! Some eye-catching beauty from the Maldives of the non-so-fairer sex. It’s not for lack of trying. I’ve been seeking out male travel bloggers, models and celebrities for the past year since I first introduced the fashion pieces to the blog. But in the world of online imagery, the male subjects are significantly fewer than the female ones. Two orders of magnitude fewer. At least! Not to imply that the male visitors are any less photogenic, just less photo-fanatical. But I have ferreted out a few masculine masterpieces including this collection of top ten models in the Maldives…
