We love a villa pool just for a handy dip to cool off from the tropical heat. Sometimes we will linger in the pool with a drink. So a modest sized plunge pool is just sufficient and this is the format of most villa pools. They are so long, they can fit at the front of the villa, but instead have to run along it side (see photo below).
